What is Tres Dias?
Tres Dias is a Christian ministry that revitalizes Christian men and women in their walk with Christ by encouraging them to:
- Impact their home and work environments for Christ
- Maintain their own relationship with Christ through small group sharing
- Return to their home churches with a renewed desire to be a Servant Leader.
What does Tres Dias teach?
We focus on God’s unqualified love for each of us through grace, with the goal of coming away from the weekend with a refreshed and empowered relationship with God through Christ. Importantly, Tres Dias does not “teach” doctrine. In fact, we try to stay away from doctrinal discussions/debates, choosing instead to stress the things that the Christians have in common while respecting those things which are different.
What does Tres Dias believe?
Tres Dias stresses those things that all Christian traditions have in common while respecting those things which are different. Here is a
LINK to the Tres Dias Statement of Beliefs.
What happens on a Tres Dias weekend?
The weekend is a Christ-centered, typically starting at 7 PM on Thursday through 7 PM on Sunday. There are 15 talks with discussions after each. Lots of Praise and Worship singing. Daily Communion celebration. Chapel worship services. Food and snacks. Luxurious dorms with bunk beds and showers. A vacation from cell phone distractions.
What will I get out of attending a Tres Dias weekend?
Everyone’s experience with their Tres Dias weekend is different. Some people describe their Tres Dias as an intense time with the Holy Spirit. Others describe Tres Dias as guidance for how to live out their Christian life. It is best to experience your Tres Dias with an open heart and mind and see what the Lord gifts you during your weekend.
Who leads a Tres Dias weekend?
Men and women attend separate weekends. Tres Dias is lay led, but pastors (we call them Spiritual Directors) are intimately involved with the weekend. All Tres Dias weekends have to strictly adhere to
The Essentials of Tres Dias to ensure that all Tres Dias weekends are conducted similarly.
Who should attend a Tres Dias weekend?
Tres Dias is open to all adult Christians, men and women, married or single, regardless of denomination. Most participants are Protestants, but Catholics are indeed welcome. You must be at least 21 years old at the time of the weekend. Since the emphasis on the weekend is on Christian leadership development and renewal, Tres Dias is especially valuable for Christians who want their faith strengthened so they can return rejuvenated to their home churches as leaders for Christ. Laity and clergy alike are invited to join the community. Men and women attend different and unique Weekends.
Why must I be sponsored to attend a Tres Dias weekend?
Tres Dias is not for everyone. Tres Dias is for those guests who DESIRE a closer relationship with Jesus and WANT to grow their faith. Tres Dias uses a sponsorship model to ensure that those who attend a weekend are ready. A sponsorship model also allows your sponsor to support you after your weekend to help you put into practice those skills learned on your Tres Dias weekend. If you want to attend a weekend but do not know anyone who has been through a Tres Dias weekend, send a contact request through the NETTD website and we will contact you.
Is Tres Dias a cult?
Absolutely not! This myth was started on the Internet because of secrecy concerns, but it is not true. The entire structure of Tres Dias and Tres Dias Weekends has been published on the Internet for years as
The Essentials of Tres Dias. Our
Statement of Beliefs, which are common to all Christian traditions, is similarly published on the Internet. There are no secrets in Tres Dias. If you ask a question of any Tres Dias member, you should receive an answer that is 100% truthful and complete.
Is Tres Dias a church?
Absolutely not! We encourage Tres Dias participants to return to their home churches as leaders. Tres Dias is NOT competition to churches, but rather, a tool to strengthen church participation.
Why am I asked to remove my watch and cell phone during the weekend?
Tres Dias is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You can only attend a Tres Dias (or similar weekend) as a guest one time. We ask that you leave your watch and cell phone at home or in the car to eliminate these distractions so that you can concentrate your full attention on your relationship with God. An emergency contact number will be provided to your family if you need to be contacted on the weekend. Tres Dias team members will ensure that you get your medicine if it needs to be taken at a certain time. Let us take care of you on your Tres Dias so that you can concentrate on your relationship with God.
What should I bring to my Tres Dias weekend?
A Tres Dias is very casual. Bring comfortable clothes for the weekend. Bring a jacket or sweater in case the meeting room is cooler than you prefer. Guests stay in bunk beds (all bottom bunks) in dorm rooms, so bring appropriate bedding (pillow, sheets, blanket or sleeping bag). You will need a towel, toiletries, and any medicines you take. There will be PLENTY of food and snacks provided.
Can special diets be accommodated?
Probably. Dining is cafeteria style, so you can choose to load your plate with only what you want. We have had diabetics and those with Celiac disease attend the weekend without issue.
Is there much free time, like for exercising?
The Tres Dias schedule is highly structured, so there really is not much free time in the schedule. There are frequent short breaks during the day. One could get up and run early in the morning, but that would have to be VERY early so as to not interfere with your Tres Dias. It is suggested that you relax and leave your work-out routine on pause during your Tres Dias.
Is there a cost to attend a Tres Dias weekend?
Yes. The cost for the weekend is approximately $190.00 per participant. The cost includes three nights of lodging, meals, snacks, and all materials necessary for the weekend.
